The Events and Sponsorships Coordinator will provide event support for the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce (CalAsian) and the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce (SacAsian), and their Foundation. They will work with the events and marketing team to help plan and execute virtual and in-person events, providing administrative support, communicating with key vendors and speakers, and assisting with day-of logistics and event coordination.

They will also provide administrative support and communicate with the chambers’ 100-plus corporate sponsors and community partners. Key responsibilities include data entry, spreadsheet management, and working with internal chamber staff to ensure the delivery of sponsor benefits.

Organizations: The CalAsian Chamber is the largest ethnic chamber of commerce in California, representing the interests of over 754,000 Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) owned businesses in the state. We serve and fight for underserved populations through programs that address the inequities in minority communities. The CalAsian Chamber works to ensure inclusive economic development opportunities for California’s diverse small business communities through advocacy, outreach, and education. SacAsian is focused on helping diverse business owners in the Sacramento region grow their business and expand their network through technical assistance programs, workshops, and community events such as our AAPI Night Market.


  • Assisting the Event Manager with administrative duties, communication, and on-site support for in-person and virtual events
  • Help coordinate event requirements including food and beverage, a/v, security, entertainment, etc.
  • Manage smaller virtual and in-person events, including booking venues, communications with speakers and vendors, working with internal team to create marketing and outreach materials, and overseeing expenses and budget
  • Prepare key documents and data for meetings and presentations, as needed
  • Provide ideas for event content curation
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop any relevant collateral materials and deploy marketing strategies for events as needed
  • Develop post-event recaps and reports
  • Organize and archive event collateral


  • Provide administrative support to ensure accurate data entry and tracking of corporate sponsor deliverables
  • Build relationships with corporate sponsors and community partners through effective communication
  • Work with chamber team members to ensure delivery of benefits
  • Support the completion of grant applications and reporting requirements as they pertain to corporate sponsorships

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or completion of related college courses.
  • Experience in event coordination, project management, and customer service
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication abilities
  • Positive and motivated self-starter with strong decision-making skills
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Flexible, creative, and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Basic PC skills with good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with Asana, Canva, and Slack are a bonus
  • Statewide travel may be required
