Hands-on EVSE Tech Training. No Cost. Real Skills. Local Jobs.

Keep Sierra Green is offering a no-cost, three-week, hands-on training for the EVSE technician service industry.

Presented in partnership with the Cal Asian Chamber and the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce, and supported by Sierra Business Council Grant, the Keep Sierra Green program will provide in-person instruction by professional EVSE technician experts preparing participants for the SAE International EVSE Technician Certification test. 

Taught by experts from ChargerHelp who have already certified over 1,000 EVSE technicians the course covers a wide range of topics. Participants will gain foundational knowledge in electrical energy, learn about corrective maintenance, and earn essential safety certifications such as OSHA 10, LOTO and NFPA 70E.

Interested in enrolling? Course requirements are as follows:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have a 9th grade reading level.
  • Have basic Computer and iPad skills. 
  • Have basic math skills.
  • Proficiency in the English Language. 
  • Must be able to attend the full 3 weeks (With the exception of 1 absence excused by the instructor).

Cohorts will be limited to 15 – 20 participants per class with four classes in total. Sign up and reserve your spot today while seating is still available.

What You’ll Learn

What you’ll gain from becoming a participant in ChargerHelp’s comprehensive training program:

  • Knowledge of electrical terms and concepts that serve as the foundation for safe EVSE operation and maintenance.
  • The mechanics of completing an EVSE site inspection, quality assurance, performing maintenance, and collecting data in proper reporting on over 35 different types of charging stations Levels 1-3 all agnostic OEMS through practical hands-on training. 
  • Understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations to ensure technicians can perform their jobs safely and legally.
  • The use of diagnostic tools, data analysis, and coordination efforts with a NOC on the back end – all towards moving an EVSE back to an operable state.
  • Maintain, repair, and service electric vehicle charging stations using troubleshooting skills, computer diagnostics, and electrical tools. O*NET code: 49-2095* 

The average starting salary in this field is $60,000 per year.
